Today, most of the Premium websites online are subscription based. You have to pay them monthly or annually for their services. But many of us would like to save some money and share the costs of the premium services like Netflix, Hulu, etc.
This would require sharing logins with other people whom you may or may not trust. But don’t worry, today I have a tool which allows you to share accounts with others without giving them the password.
AccessURL – Share access to websites without giving away your username and password.
AccessURL is a tool which helps you to share your logins to anyone for a specified period through cookies. They do not rely on passwords and usernames.
You can use this to provide temporary access to anyone to your accounts. It works with Facebook, Netflix, Hulu, Twitter, etc.
They do not store your passwords on their servers, so you don’t have to worry about hackers and password leaks. Additionally, they encrypt the session data with AES encryption algorithm before sharing the logins.
How Does AccessURL Work?
Whenever you log into a Website, a cookie is generated by them. This cookie is stored on your browser to log in afterward without a password.
AccessURL stores this cookie from the website. Then it encrypts it using Advanced Encryption Algorithm (AES).
After you specify the period, they generate a link which you will share with anyone who needs the access.
For accessing the website, the user should have the AccessURL Extension installed on their browser.
Steps for creating AccessURL
- Install AccessURL Extension for Chrome or Firefox.
- Create an Account here.
- Sign in to the website for which you want to create an AccessURL.
- Click on the AccessURL Button in the Toolbar.
- Select a time for expiration of the URL
- Click on Generate AccessURL
- Now the AccessURL will be generated, click on Copy AccessURL to copy it and share it with your Friends!
Note: If you log out of anywhere, other users will not be able to access the website using your AccessURL.
This was the method to share logins with anyone without sharing the passwords and risking your accounts.
This method can be used in many scenarios like office work, troubleshooting, etc.
You should always share your AccessURL with trusted people only and be aware of setting the right expiration date.
If you notice any unusual activity in your account, just log out of it, and no one will be able to access it through the link anymore.
If you have any queries, do tell them in the comments below, share it with your friends if you liked it :).
